Welcome to Grossmont High School! Since 1920, Foothillers look back proudly on our 96-year history of excellence and on the traditions we maintain. As the flagship school of GUHSD, Grossmont continues to be a school with rigorous academics, successful athletics, and astounding school spirit and pride as a twice-named California Distinguished School. Grossmont provides the most offerings of Advanced Placement courses (total 16 in 2016) in the district. On our campus we have a highly recognized NJROTC Unit. As a California Distinguished Career Technical Education School, we are able to support seven career pathways, our most recently added, Project Lead the Way, Engineering Pathway. In 2013 we were one of only seven high schools in the State to receive an award as a California Distinguished Visual and Performing Arts school. For the last eight years in a row, our ASB has been awarded a California State leadership award for their hard work and dedication. Over the past 96 years, we have supported athletics and have a winning and competitive tradition. Our school existed prior to SDCIF, but after establishing CIF, our baseball team has had 10 CIF championships (the second highest in the county), and this past year, GHS won our first girls’ basketball and our third softball CIF championship.
Grossmont High School will be holding its annual Freshman Showcase on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The following five weeks, January 16 thru February 17, 2017, Grossmont High School is asking your input about our school’s climate and culture through the California Healthy Kids Survey. The purpose of this survey is to obtain parent perceptions about the school.

By 2020, 65% of all jobs will require post-secondary education. Employers are demanding highly trained, competent and skilled workers in a wide array of industries. That’s why the Grossmont Union High School District and Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District have joined forces to set all GUHSD students up for success. Students in the Class of 2019 and beyond from these east county high schools (INCLUDES GROSSMONT HIGH SCHOOL) are automatically considered Higher Edge Scholars and will be able to participate in exciting new programs that will begin to be offered to students in the 2016/17 academic year. Students that fulfill the requirements of the Higher Edge Promise Scholarship criteria will be rewarded with FREE college for their first 30 units at either Grossmont or Cuyamaca Colleges.
