SENIOR PRESENTATIONS

The College Essay Guy is offering a free webinar on Wednesday, September 20th at 5pm PST.  If that time does not work for you, register anyway and he will send you the recording.  Register here.

Additional UC Personal Insight Question Workshops:

The College Essay Guy is offering a course to assist seniors who are applying to the University of California.  The course is $197 or "Pay What You Can."  Register here.  Lots of other great tools and resources are available for free on his website, too.


PSAT EXAM for Juniors on October 11, 2017 

All college bound juniors should register for the PSAT exam, a practice exam for the SAT.  It will be offered at GHS on Wednesday, October 11th.  Register for $16 in the Finance Office beginning Sept. 25th, while supplies last.  

The PSAT will be administered for free to all GHS sophomores on Thursday, March 15th.

PSAT Prep Live: Register today and gain instant access to online resources for the PSAT. This is a free, live PSAT prep program available to students online, and features 16 hours of interactive test prep. Students can ask questions and learn key strategies that can help improve their scores. Live lessons begin September 23rd. Register at www.kaptest.com/psatpreplive.


 

GOT PLANS?  College and Career Fair at Grossmont College on Sept. 30th

This is our BIGGEST career and college event, and it's for all students preparing to go to a 4-year college, 2-year college, career & technical school, military or work force. Learn about college admissions, financial aid, and have ALL your questions answered in one of many workshops you can attend.  Meet with college representatives from a variety of colleges.  Students and parents from the entire district will be there!  For a list of colleges and workshops available at the event, please go to https://sites.google.com/guhsd.net/gotplans2017.


 

CITY OF EL CAJON TEEN COALITION ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS until Oct. 5th

Appointees must reside or attend school within the city limits of El Cajon.  Open to students in 6th - 12th grade who are looking for an opportunity to develop leadership skills, serve their community, and discuss important issues regarding teens.  Appointees must commit to 11 months of service between Oct. 2017-Aug. 2018 and meet all service and meeting requirements.  Applications are available at www.elcajonrec.org.  Interviews will take place on Oct. 17th.  Meetings and events are scheduled based on appointee availability and are held at Renette Recreation Center and other locations.
